Remember: accept for this one split second - "show me clear," A PISTOL IS ALWAYS LOADED! AND MUST BE TREATED AS SUCH! ALWAYS!

Safety Is Paramount At Community Learning Center
"SHOW ME CLEAR !
Show Me Clear Is Our Mantra, it's our LIFE!
IT IS YOUR LIFE!
And it is as equally important along with finger off the trigger, and always keep your gun pointed in a safe direction.
Because Safety Is Paramount, we must treat every firearm as loaded until all parties have executed "show me clear."
What Does It Mean And Why Is It So Important ?
It means that all guns are to be treated as loaded at all times, and they must be visually and physically checked by each and all parties before handling. NOBODY MUST EVER say: "It's Empty" or "It's Loaded or Unloaded," Clear means, that the pistol is temporarily, briefly, for only one split second, empty or unloaded!
SAY...SHOW ME CLEAR! THEN MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAR!!
THEN, TREAT IT AS IT IS LIVE, REAL AND LOADED!

Step 1Say, Show Me Clear. Drop the magazine and THEN open the action on a semi automatic pistol and lock it back OR on a revolver open the cylinder.
|
Step 2Visually and physically check that the magazine has been removed and the chamber (s) and the barrel are empty while keeping the gun in a safe direction.
|
Step 3Physically check the barrel and chamber with your little finger. This assures that the firearm is unloaded should it be a low light situation.
|
Step 4Verbally state, Gun Is Clear. At least one person must do these 4 steps before a firearm is handed off between 2 people. Remember, CLEAR is only a temporary state.
